Old church farm where travellers on horseback used to collect a guide before crossing the sands and lakes. Part of the little turf-built chapel dates from the 17th century. The farm and meadow are a splendid example of the old landscape in which the Icelanders lived and worked before the mechanical age. The farmland includes Núpsstaðarskógur, an area of thick shrub on the slopes of Mt. Eystrafjall, near Lake Grænalón.
