The main bus terminal in Reykjavík is at Vatnsmýrarvegur 10. From there, you can travel to destinations all round Iceland.

Scheduled Buses

If you are travelling alone or want to plan a simple journey around the country, then scheduled buses are your best option. You can travel to many of the small towns and villages, choosing to stay as long as you want in each place and seeing what they have to offer. If you are cycling, then you can also travel with your bike on any bus.

As well as buses around the island, there are also scheduled connections to the central Highlands, such as Kjölur and Sprengisandur.

Domestic transportation

As well as long-distance bus services, there are also local buses in most areas of the country. Travelling around Reykjavík by bus is particularly convenient, whether you are visiting museums, swimming pools, or simply sightseeing.
